Karen Bowman

Karen Bowman is a native of Seattle and has been advocating for safe and equitable working conditions and environmental health for over three decades. She has an Advanced Practice Degree in Community Health Systems Nursing with a special focus in Occupational and Environmental Health from the University of Washington. She is the past president of the Washington State Chapter of the Association of Occupational Health Nurses and is a certified occupational health nurse specialist. Ms. Bowman owns her own firm in Seattle that assists clients with health and safety compliance, regulatory and wellness education. Karen is a retired lecturer from the School of Nursing and Health Studies at the University of Washington Bothell. Ms. Bowman has strong connections with the business and environmental health communities. Her position as the Occupational and Environmental Health Nurse Specialist for the Washington State Nurses Association has strategically placed her in a prime position to advocate for State and Federal occupational and environmental health legislation that strengthens workers health and safety.
