My name is Cheri Osler, and I live in Spokane, Washington. I am passionate about healthcare and am the associate dean of nursing at Spokane Community College. I also serve on several boards, including the MultiCare Human Subjects Institutional Review Board, the Nursing Program Approval Panel for the Washington Board of Nursing, co-president for the Inland Empire Nurses Association Board, and the WSNA’s Legislative & Health Policy Council. I am also a Disaster Mental Health Counselor and youth disaster preparedness educator for the American Red Cross. I enjoy school and have earned a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern California, a master’s degree in Community Mental Health Nursing from the University of Hawaii (clinical nurse specialist), a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Argosy University, a Master of Studies in Law from the University of Southern California, and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Seattle Pacific University. I am also a Certified Nurse Educator and Licensed Mental Health Counselor in private practice. Presently, I am getting a master’s in public health, and my passions include workplace violence and workplace incivility. I want to study ways to improve the mental health epidemic and the nursing shortage.
